Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo is back in full training for the first time this season.

Kobbie Mainoo trained with the rest of the first team group as the players stepped up preparations to face Galatasaray.

Mainoo has been out of action since suffering a knee injury against Real Madrid in pre-season in the USA.

He returned to individual training last month, and has now moved up his recovery.

Kobbie Mainoo trains with first team

Kobbie Mainoo joined his teammates in full drills, in images broadcast on MUTV for the open training session.

Mainoo was also accompanied by FA Youth Cup winning teammate Dan Gore, who was also with the squad after making his first team debut last week.

Gore was in action for the under-21s at the weekend, scoring an impressive solo goal in a 5-2 win over Blackburn.

Mainoo return is great boost

Kobbie Mainoo was outstanding in the three pre-season games he completed, including the win over Arsenal.

He made his first team debut last season and looks primed to make an impact for Erik ten Hag’s side this campaign.

With Sofyan Amrabat‘s arrival, and Mason Mount returning from injury, Manchester United now have a fully fit midfield. It is in defence where injuries are really piling up.

Mainoo, 18, has a chance to make the bench for tomorrow night’s Champions League game against Galatasaray.

United may elect to play it cautiously, and leave him out, also for the weekend game against Brentford, with a view to getting him more involved with the first team after the international break.
