Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has issued a rallying cry calling on his teammates “to get back to working hard”.
Ralf Rangnick’s side once again squandered a 1-0 lead in yesterday’s 1-1 draw against Southampton at Old Trafford.
It’s the third game in a row that the Reds have taken a first half lead and then conceded an equaliser in the second half.

According to Opta, for only the second time in our Premier League history, Manchester United have failed to win back-to-back matches despite being ahead at half-time in both, having last done so in December 1998.
After drawing against his former club, Shaw wasn’t afraid to give some honest home truths about the lack of work rate within the United side.
Speaking on Match of the Day, Shaw said: “We know we need to get better and it needs to be quick.
“We cannot overthink it and we need to get back to working hard and we need to get results.
“We want to get into the Champions League. If we keep on doing what we’re doing now it isn’t good enough and there’s no chance we will be in the Champions League.”

It’s not the first time that the England international has publicly called-out his Manchester United teammates.
Following the 1-0 defeat against Wolves last month, the 26-year-old questioned United’s motivation and intensity, as well as claiming “we weren’t all together”.
A constant theme of this Manchester United side has been the reluctance to work hard and the seeming lack of desire to buy into Rangnick’s ethos, and instil a pressing and all-action energetic approach.
Against the Saints, only Diogo Dalot (80) had more touches than Shaw (76) across the two sides, and no player from either team registered as many key passes as United’s number 23 (4).
Luke Shaw has called for immediate improvements and he will be hoping that Ralf Rangnick resists the temptation of recalling Alex Telles for Tuesday’s clash against Brighton.
