Erik ten Hag needs to beat Luton Town if he is to remain Manchester United manager, according to former United player Alan Brazil.
Manchester United returned to losing ways on Wednesday night in a dramatic 4-3 defeat against Copenhagen. This made it nine losses for the season already after just 17 games.
The game was filled with drama and included teo penalties and a Marcus Rashford red card.
Despite losing in shambolic fashion after throwing away a 2-0 lead, there were positive signs in the Champions League which makes Alan Brazil’s latest claim all the more baffling.
Speaking on talkSPORT during Friday morning’s show, former United player, Brazil claimed that Erik ten Hag is on thin ice, and a loss to Luton Town could tip it over the edge.

Brazil warns Ten Hag ahead of Luton game
Speaking on the early morning show, Brazil claimed that Ten Hag will be a goner in December unless he beats Luton.
“Manchester United have to beat Luton, if they don’t Ten Hag is a goner, he’s a goner. He won’t go in my opinion from what I hear, before December right, but after December 1st, he’s in big danger.”
“I don’t think it’s going to happen until after December. I’ve nothing against Ten Hag but I honestly believe they’re not playing for him and I think he’s lost the dressing room, I’ve said that before and I’m sure he’s lost it.”
He shouldn’t go, but he has to beat Luton
While we don’t think Ten Hag’s job is in immediate danger, given the takeover situation being unresolved but losing at Old Trafford against Luton will lead many fans to lose faith.
He needs to find a leader in the United team as it is clearly missing one.
This is a game that can’t see points dropped due to a loss making it three consecutive defeats at Old Trafford. We want him to succeed but he also needs to show that we are moving forward.
Beating Luton is the absolute bare minimum.
