Loanee Ethan Galbraith impresses with assist in rare win
Manchester United youngster Ethan Galbraith caught the eye with an impressive performance on loan on Saturday.
The Northern Irish whizkid helped Doncaster Rovers to a 3-2 win over Cheltenham Town.
Galbraith created the first goal with an assist from inside his own half.
The goal set Doncaster on their way to a 3-0 lead before the visitors scored two second half goals to set up a tense finish.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
Doncaster held on for the win, just their third victory from 13 League One matches this season.
After the game manager Richie Wellens raved about the 20-year-old Manchester United talent.
Wellens told Doncaster’s website: “Class, class footballer. Ethan was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch.”
All round gem
Galbraith had plenty of work to do on both sides of the ball as he lined up on the right of a midfield four in a 3-4-3 formation.
He touched the ball 86 times, the highest number of any player on the pitch.
Galbraith also recorded five tackles and for his efforts he was named man of the match.
Galbraith is still looking for his first Doncaster goal but now has two assists in his opening 11 games on loan.
He is showing he is more than ready for first team football, and shining in a struggling team, with Doncaster 23rd out of 24 teams in the league.
This victory over a side in 13th will give Galbraith and his teammates a little more confidence heading into an important stretch of the season.
