There appears to be positive news for Manchester United on the injury front as two defenders look to push through their fitness problems.

We can debate the various bad refereeing calls all day long, but the real reason Manchester United lost to Arsenal rather than at least claiming a draw, was down to injury problems.

Lisandro Martinez was forced off with an injury, while Victor Lindelof could not complete the game either.

This left United with a makeshift pairing of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans at the back, not how you would want to close out a big away game.

Lisandro Martinez on duty with Argentina

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez trained with the Argentina team yesterday, and looked in good spirits.

He shared a picture on Instagram with a smile, insisting he was happy to be back in his homeland.

Argentine journalist Gaston Edul had previously allayed fears of an injury to the defender, insisting he should be fit to contribute over the international break.

There looks to be more good news regarding Victor Lindelof, whose illness was cited as reason he could not finish the game against Arsenal.

The Sweden national team’s Instagram account shared a picture of the Manchester United defender wth a big smile on his face, and the defender is expected to play for his country in the upcoming games.

Having both defenders fit will be good news for Manchester United, who face Brighton in the first game after the international break.

The Seagulls have a big injury worry of their own, with in-form striker Evan Ferguson forced to pull out of the Republic of Ireland international fixtures with a knee injury.
