There appears to be positive news regarding Lisandro Martinez on the injury front.

Erik ten Hag was fairly coy when asked after the game for an update on Lisandro Martinez.

Martinez did not complete the game against Arsenal, going off with a knock sustained for a challenge he made which also earned him a yellow card.

Ten Hag said he was unsure whether the Martinez situation was one United should worry about. But there is some bright news.

Update on Lisandro Martinez

There does appear to be good news regarding the Martinez injury situation.

Argentine reporter Gaston Edul says Martinez just suffered a knock and is expected to travel for international duty.

He wrote on X.com: “Lisandro Martínez would only have pain because he received a blow.

“He has no injury. You can travel with the Argentine National Team.”

Argentina fixtures

Argentina have two World Cup qualifiers upcoming, as the Conmebol group for 2026 gets underway.

They face Ecuador on Friday and then Bolivia on Tuesday. Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho are both with the squad.

It does look like United can expect to have him back for the next Premier League game, at home to Brighton in a fortnight time.

Victor Lindelof’s situation is not expected to be serious either, and that is likely to be United’s pairing again, meaning we won’t have to rely on a partnership of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans.
