Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire could not hold back their feelings after Manchester United’s latest Premier League result against Manchester City at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were back in action on Sunday afternoon and Ruben Amorim’s men and Pep Guardiola’s side shared the Premier League points on the weekend.
Manchester United hosted Manchester City at Old Trafford and the Red Devils played out a dull 0-0 Premier League draw in the last Manchester derby of the season.
The Red Devils are 13th in the Premier League table and Ruben Amorim’s side have only seven league matches remaining in their lacklustre 2024-25 campaign.
United had their chances against City in Sunday’s 0-0 draw, but the Red Devils lacked the clinical edge to break the deadlock and find the winner at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have only managed 10 Premier League wins in 31 matches in the 2024-25 season and Amorim’s men could fail to finish in the top half of the table.
United are currently on course for their lowest finish in the Premier League table since the formation of England’s top-flight league all the way back in 1992.

Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire’s reactions after Man Utd and Man City’s 0-0 Premier League draw in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford
Leny Yoro started as the left-sided centre-back in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for Manchester United and the defender saw out the full 90 minutes at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old United centre-back impressed with his overall display against Manchester City and showed his real quality in the three-man backline.
Harry Maguire was also in the United XI for the Manchester derby, but the 32-year-old England defender was withdrawn in the 58th minute of the match on Sunday.
Yoro took to Instagram and admitted that it was a “very tight derby,” but the French defender says the “focus” must now ‘shift’ to the Europa League.
Posting to his 1m followers, he said: “A very tight derby at Old Trafford. Thanks to the fans for always being there.
“Focus shifts to the Europa League.”
Maguire said that he was “disappointed” that United didn’t secure a result against City, but he echoed Yoro’s sentiments about the Europa League campaign.
“Disappointed we couldn’t get that winner,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Focus now on Thursday.”
Ruben Amorim sends a clear message about Man Utd’s 2024-25 Europa League campaign after Man City draw at Old Trafford
Following the Manchester derby, United manager Ruben Amorim insisted that the Red Devils must win the Europa League to return to the Champions League.
“It’s really important,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“Again, it’s not the most important thing for Manchester United because we have a lot of things to do, but you can see it, in this season, the Europa League is really important.
“We can reach the Champions League next season, we can win something, so we are going to do everything to try to go to the next stage.”
Lyon will host United at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time.
