Manchester United and England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has talked up the major influence that Michael Carrick has had since his return to Old Trafford in January.
Kobbie Mainoo has been thriving under interim boss Michael Carrick since former Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim was axed by the Premier League club.
The 21-year-old Manchester United star has featured in 12 of Carrick’s 13 Premier League matches in charge and has enjoyed a revitalisation in form at Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo on Michael Carrick’s qualities as a leader and the importance of the Man Utd boss’ ‘confidence’
Kobbie Mainoo has been able to climb back into the England fold under Thomas Tuchel after Michael Carrick restored his place in the Manchester United starting XI.
The Stockport-born midfielder had been fighting for his Red Devils future under former United manager Ruben Amorim after falling down the pecking order.
Speaking to GQ magazine, Mainoo insisted that United legend Carrick has brought a major boost in “confidence” for the Red Devils first-team players at Old Trafford.
“He’s boss to me! He’s the boss,” he said.
“He’s been amazing, the advice he’s given us and the confidence that he’s brought into the players and shows himself.
“He’s a great leader and you really want to follow him.”

Kobbie Mainoo says Michael Carrick’s influence had a knock-on effect on his Man Utd confidence
Carrick has only four Premier League matches remaining in his 17-fixture reign this season after Ineos installed him in the interim head coach role at the club.
Ahead of the Liverpool match at Old Trafford on Sunday, Mainoo explained that he now mirrors the ‘confidence’ that the Man Utd interim boss has shown in his reign.
“The great player that he’s been, he knows everything that we’ve been through because he’s been through it himself, so when he’s confident, I’m confident,” he added.
Mainoo has made 26 appearances across all competitions this season and the England international has three assists to his name for Man Utd.
