Bryan Mbeumo returns to the Gtech Community Stadium for the first time since signing for Manchester United on Saturday.

After completing a £71 million transfer to Manchester United, Bryan Mbeumo hit the ground running at his new club.

With two goals to his name, Mbeumo was named United’s Player of the Month for August, and he will be looking to contribute more in the coming months.

Mbeumo has already established himself as a key player under Ruben Amorim and will be one of the first names on the teamsheet when United travel to Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.

A win over Brentford would see United record back-to-back wins in the league for the first time under Amorim.

The Cameroon international became one of the best forwards in the Premier League, scoring 20 goals for Brentford last term.

He made 242 appearances for Brentford, scoring 70 goals and registering 51 assists, proving his ability in the final third.

Mbeumo is now making waves at United.

Brentford manager Keith Andrews expects him to receive a warm reception from the home fans on Saturday afternoon.

When asked about Mbeumo’s return, Andrews told reporters (via BBC Sport): “Bryan epitomises everything good about this football club. He was given time, patience and support, and I think the way it went last year was the culmination of that six-year journey where so many people in that building played a part in his development.

“I know for a fact he really appreciates that and he appreciates the fans. Bryan rightly should get a really good reception.”

Andrews previews Man Utd clash

Brentford beat United at home in May, towards the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

United were winners at Old Trafford, winning 2-1, thanks to goals from two players who are now playing their football elsewhere: Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

Thomas Frank was in the dugout then, but now Andrews is in charge of Brentford.

Andrews has warned his team that they will be facing a talented bunch of players tomorrow afternoon.

“They’re a very talented set of players and have a very defined way of playing the game that they know very well. They’ve added some quality players that will cause us a lot of problems if we don’t do things correctly tomorrow.”
