Manchester United are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window with a plethora of incomings and outgoings expected under Ineos.
This summer’s rebuild is expected, following this season, which will go down as the worst experienced by Manchester United domestically in the Premier League era. The Red Devils are currently 15th in the league, with just 39 points this season and a worst-ever tally of 16 losses.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 13 | 35 | 12 | 5 | 18 | 51 | 62 | -11 | 41 | |
| 14 | 35 | 8 | 15 | 12 | 36 | 43 | -7 | 39 | |
| 15 | 35 | 10 | 9 | 16 | 42 | 51 | -9 | 39 | |
| 16 | 35 | 11 | 5 | 19 | 63 | 57 | 6 | 38 | |
| 17 | 35 | 9 | 10 | 16 | 40 | 59 | -19 | 37 |
Due to this, Ineos are expected to rebuild the team in the image of Ruben Amorim with a general consensus that the squad is simply not good enough. In a summer clear-out, it is thought that United could be ready to let at least 10 players depart permanently.
Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell will need to replace these players who depart the club, with Matheus Cunha already close to joining United as a likely replacement for Marcus Rashford.
However, plenty more work will be needed to get the squad fit for purpose, with very few safe from the impending clear-out which Ineos are looking to complete in the summer.
Now, there are only four players considered untouchable.

The four players Manchester United consider unsellable this summer
For the majority of this season, it has been assumed that United would be axing several names, with the club open to offers for most players.
Now, according to a report from the Daily Star, there are only four players who are considered unsellable this summer by United.
Amad Diallo is an obvious untouchable as he has immediately established himself as the club’s key man upon his return from injury. Amad only signed a new contract for United in January and is one player who will not be on the exit list this summer.
January addition, Patrick Dorgu, is also considered untouchable by the club, having invested £25m in the Danish wing-back just months ago for his excellent potential.
Club captain Bruno Fernandes is considered unsellable by United, despite links to Saudi Arabia recently, which should end any chance of that deal happening. The final name on the list is Harry Maguire, who has been absolutely brilliant since Amorim’s arrival at the club.
Interestingly, three of these four unsellable players were signed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer through 2019 and 2020, which means that time has proven the recruitment under the Norwegian was at times very decent.
Manchester United should add two players to the unsellable list
While there are just four unsellable players, this does not mean that the entire team will be sold, but rather, if an offer arrives, it will be considered.
However, there are some notable exclusions on the list that United should also have on the list of players who are untouchable this summer.
- Kobbie Mainoo
- Leny Yoro
Both Mainoo and Yoro are among the very best youngsters in their positions worldwide, and the club would be wrong to consider offers this summer, considering their value is only going to skyrocket.
The fact that there are just six players we would want United to consider untouchable this summer speaks volumes about how poor the team is right now and how much work Amorim needs to give him a squad capable of challenging further up the league.
While even Alejandro Garnacho is showing signs that selling him for £65m would be a mistake this summer.
