Manchester United youngster Mateo Mejia has said goodbye to the club to begin a new chapter in Spain.

There is no shame in admitting it did not work out for Mateo Mejia at Manchester United. His spell at the club was immediately hurt by injuries, beginning when he was stretchered off in his first academy game.

More setbacks followed, including surgery, before he began finally playing regular football for the under-21s in early 2023.

Manchester United’s objective in the academy is always to develop players, whether for the first team or not, and they have helped Mejia get his career back on track and earn a new opportunity at Sevilla.
