Third time could be the charm for Paul Pogba as there were recent reports linking him with a return to Manchester United with a twist, however.
After his contract with Juventus was terminated with mutual agreement, Paul Pogba remains a free agent and having not had any competitive action for a while, can’t go straight back in.
As such, there were reports that he was set for a return to United to use the Carrington facility for training and getting some rhythm.
Man Utd fans gave a clear verdict on those reports and now, journalist Ben Jacobs has shared the latest on this development.

Paul Pogba’s Man Utd return
Pogba has made no secret of the fact that he was unhappy at Old Trafford for a large part of his spell be it due to head coaches, the team’s lack of success, or through a feeling of being targeted.
He recently accepted in an interview that he told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about his desire to leave after his first season. That came following his bust-up with Jose Mourinho.
Therefore, the tie between United and Pogba is hardly rosy, although the club is famous for always giving their academy graduates the chance to get back into rhythm.
Sometimes, it is an unqualified success, as seen in Jonny Evans’ case, who came to train with United as a free agent and fast forward to today, is a key member of the first team with a bonus FA Cup medal.
Still, it’s hard to compare those two situations as Evans and Pogba are night and day in terms of their personalities.
That gave many fans a pause on reports of Pogba coming to train, especially with Amorim set to put his own print on the squad.
Ben Jacobs now reports that Pogba is, in fact, training in Miami right now and all the options- Middle East, MLS, and Europe are being considered.
More importantly, there’s no plan on either side of potentially coming to Carrington to train, which would come as a relief to many fans.
The correct decision
Even if the initial reports were far off the mark, there is no smoke without fire so in this case, it looks like a good decision from both parties.
After returning from a ban and now without a club, Pogba would probably like to get back to fitness away from the intense glare and scrutiny that follows United.
From the club’s point of view, there is no point adding to intensity and inviting more coverage than they are already set to receive in light of Ruben Amorim’s arrival.
Most importantly, from a purely competitive standpoint, Pogba would be a move straight out of the Ed Woodward playbook which Ineos have moved completely away from.
They are building a young spine with an experienced group full of model professionals. Pogba doesn’t fit in either category.
As such, it is the correct decision if Pogba has no plans to train at Carrington, for both, the player and the club.
