Joshua Zirkzee dropped the ultimate compliment on Amad Diallo after the Manchester United winger’s stunning hat-trick against Southampton at Old Trafford.
Southampton blew the chance to seal all three Premier League points with a shock win over Manchester United on Thursday evening.
Ivan Juric’s men were leading for the majority of the Premier League match after Southampton took advantage of United’s vulnerability from set-pieces.
A Southampton corner in the first half took a huge deflection off Manuel Ugarte’s back and Andre Onana was unable to prevent the ball from landing in his net.
However, United rallied back late in the second half against the Saints thanks to a show-stealing hat-trick from Amad Diallo at Old Trafford.
Amad bagged United’s equaliser in the 82nd minute before the Red Devils winger put Ruben Amorim’s men 2-1 up only eight minutes later.
The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international, who recently signed a new deal with United, then completed his hat-trick in injury time to seal all three points.

Zirkzee’s new nickname for Amad
Manchester United have climbed to 12th place in the Premier League table after Thursday’s 3-1 result against Southampton.
The Red Devils have managed only seven league wins in 21 matches in the 2024-25 campaign and Ruben Amorim’s side are 10 points above the relegation zone.
Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench early in the second half and replaced United striker Rasmus Hojlund for the Southampton clash at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old Dutch forward deeply impressed United fans with his performance and Zirkzee was showered with praise for how much he influenced the match.
Zirkzee took to Instagram after the result and paid tribute to Amad Diallo, with the United striker sharing a picture of the two and posting the message: “Amadness.”

Amad was spotted in the comments of Zirkzee’s social media post and the Ivorian attacker left his United teammate two love heart emojis in response.
Amorim reacts to Man Utd star Amad
Speaking after the Southampton clash, United manager Amorim revealed his reaction to Amad in the dressing room after his masterclass hat-trick at Old Trafford.
“I didn’t say nothing. I will tell it tomorrow, that he has to rest, eat good food, to prepare Sunday, we need them again,” he said at his post-match press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“He [Amad] did a great job. It is a great moment for a young kid to score a hat-trick for a club like this, but he needs to focus on the next match because this is already in the past, and prepare [for] the next game.”
