Manchester United have appointed Ruben Amorim as Erik ten Hag’s replacement, following in the footsteps of compatriot Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United sacked Erik ten Hag last week but have already appointed his successor.
United have confirmed the arrival of Ruben Amorim, luring the 39-year-old away from Sporting in the process.
Amorim won two league titles as Sporting boss and will now look to bring success back to Old Trafford.
Amorim only joins United later in November though as he wanted to fulfil his Sporting commitments until the international break.
That means all eyes will be on Amorim and Sporting against Manchester City on Tuesday night with United fans hoping to see a big performance.

Jose Mourinho prediction on Ruben Amorim at Manchester United
Amorim becomes the second Portuguese boss to manage United, following in the footsteps of Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho’s reign didn’t exactly end well but he did guide United to Europa League glory – and Amorim would love to do the same.
Mourinho has previously praised Amorim and reports are now emerging about his private thoughts on the move.
The Times claim that Mourinho is understood to believe that Amorim ‘will be a success’ at United.
The Fenerbahce boss is privately predicting real success for his compatriot, some six years since he lost his own position in the United dugout.
It’s added that players at Carrington are excited by the prospect of working under Amorim as he potentially brings a back three system to Old Trafford.
United have been used to playing in a back four for a long time now but Amorim has almost exclusively played a back three at Sporting – and may bring that approach to United.

When Mourinho battled Amorim
Mourinho and Amorim have only locked horns as managers once before – and that came in a pre-season friendly back in 2022.
Sporting faced Roma in the Algarve and Amorim ended up on the winning side.
Pedro Goncalves opened the scoring for Sporting before a Goncalo Inacio own goal brought Roma level.
Inacio rectified his mistake by putting Sporting back in front, only for Lorenzo Pellegrini to make it 2-2.
Sporting had one more goal in the locker though as Bruno Tabata won it, handing Amorim bragging rights – yes, only in a friendly – over Mourinho.
Mourinho has kept tabs on Amorim’s development as a manager and seemingly likes what he sees – so much so that he thinks United may have struck gold.
