Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund is slowly beginning to get on a roll, and there is more to come.

Rasmus Hojlund has had to show great mental strength during his opening few months at Manchester United so far.

The Dane has regularly had to contend with a lack of service, and even made his frustration known during the game.

At the end of the game he seized the one chance he had, creating it for himself, to extend United’s lead and make the scoreline against Newport a 4-2 win.

Rasmus Hojlund has scored in three of his last four starts

Whisper it quietly, but Rasmus Hojlund is gathering steam. He has scored three goals in his last four starts for the club, netting against Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newport County.

He keeps on going, and Manchester United need him to. With Anthony Martial out injured for the foreseeable future, Hojlund is needed more than ever.

He has the full support of his teammates, with veteran defender Jonny Evans showing his admiration and support for the former Atalanta striker.

Hojlund wrote on Instagram: “Next round👊 Happy to get my first goal In the @emiratesfacup 😎 See you all thursday again.”

Evans wrote in response, ‘beast’, while Amad, Altay Bayindir and Antony also reached out to show support for the striker.

Rasmus Hojlund season so far

Rasmus Hojlund has now scored eight goals in all competitions this season and is Manchester United’s outright top goalscorer.

Five have come in the Champions League, two in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup.

It’s the league return which has been disappointing, but he has netted in his last two league matches, and his confidence is clearly on the rise.

This week, United face Wolves in the Premier League at Molineux on Thursday, before a game at home to West Ham on Sunday.
