Joe Hart has told Ruben Amorim that Manchester United are taking the wrong approach with one player who is “not offering a lot” at Old Trafford this season.
Ruben Amorim breathed a sigh of relief on Saturday afternoon after Manchester United staged a late comeback draw against Everton at Goodison Park.
David Moyes’ resurgent Everton side were 2-0 up going into half-time and United manager Amorim faced an uphill task in getting his side back into the contest.
Fortunately for Amorim, United stepped up at Goodison Park and Bruno Fernandes pulled one back for the Red Devils in the 72nd minute from a stunning free-kick.
Only eight minutes after Bruno Fernandes netted would United find the all-important equaliser, with Manuel Ugarte driving home a stunning finish past Jordan Pickford.
United languish in 15th place in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are 13 points clear of 18th-place Ipswich Town in the 2024-25 campaign.
The Red Devils have been in woeful form in the Premier League this season and United have only won eight of their 26 league matches in the current campaign so far.
Hart on Man Utd star’s struggles
Rasmus Hojlund’s goalscoring struggles have continued at Old Trafford and the Danish forward was unable to break his drought in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.
The 22-year-old Manchester United striker has not netted since the start of 2025 and he last scored against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League last December.
Rasmus Hojlund played 70 minutes against Everton before Ruben Amorim withdrew him and replaced the United forward with youngster Chido Obi-Martin.
Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day 2, former Manchester City player Joe Hart claimed that Hojlund is being left on his own “all the time” to fight for the ball.
The ex-England international added that United players are asking Hojlund to score after “lumping the ball up to him,” despite his confidence being at a “low” point.
“He’s on his own all the time,” Hart said, as per The Daily Mirror.
“They’re asking a recently-turned 22 guy who’s out of form, it looks like they’re just lumping the ball up to him and saying, ‘Can you score us a goal?’
“As you say, confidence is low, he’s not offering a lot.”

Rasmus Hojlund has scored seven times in 33 matches across all competitions this season and the United striker is facing mounting pressure over his run of form.
Amorim has seen a lack of goalscoring output from both Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee since his arrival at Old Trafford from Sporting CP last November.
Hart highlighted one instance where United captain Bruno Fernandes did not pick out Hojlund during a Red Devils breakaway in the match against Everton.
“Great example there of Hojlund wanting to go, not knowing when to go, Fernandes getting his head down,” he said.
“And it just looks so confused. And that gives the opposition so much confidence.”
