Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has dropped his clear-cut prediction for where Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side will finish in the Premier League next season.
Erik ten Hag led Manchester United to a third-place Premier League finish in his debut season at Old Trafford after arriving from Dutch side Ajax in 2022.
However, the 54-year-old Dutchman endured a tough second season with United after the Red Devils limped to an eighth-place finish in the league.
United’s eight-place finish under Ten Hag in the 2023-24 campaign was the Red Devils’ worst league finish in the Premier League era.
However, United were able to secure Europa League football for the 2024-25 campaign after beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley in May.
Ten Hag’s men were in action on Saturday and suffered a penalty shootout defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield clash at Wembley.

Carragher predicts Man Utd’s Premier League finish
Manchester United will begin their 2024-25 Premier League campaign on Friday when they host Fulham at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag has seen changes to his coaching staff ahead of the new season, with Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake appointed as his new assistant managers.
The former Ajax boss has also seen the arrival of new signings at Old Trafford, including Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and Leny Yoro from Lille.
Ten Hag will be keen to see the Red Devils bounce back from their 2023-24 campaign and challenge for a top-four Premier League spot.
The Red Devils manager inked a new contract extension this summer after Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos opted to retain his services following an end-of-season review.
A user on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared a screenshot of Jamie Carragher revealing his top-six prediction for the Premier League season.
Carragher has predicted Manchester City to win a fifth consecutive Premier League title, with Arsenal to finish second and Liverpool to secure third place.
The 46-year-old Liverpool legend believes that Tottenham and United will finish fourth and fifth respectively, with Aston Villa tipped for sixth place.
Ten Hag looking ahead to Fulham clash
Following United’s defeat in the Community Shield, Ten Hag spoke highly of the fans and vowed to send a statement of intent against Fulham at Old Trafford.
“I missed [our fans] so much,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“I am so happy we are back. I am really looking forward to the season.
“Starting on Friday against Fulham. We have some days to prepare and we have to use them. We have to use them and start against Fulham.”
