Manchester United midfielder James Garner’s impressive loan spell at Nottingham Forest continued this weekend.

Forest won both of their games over Easter Weekend. A 1-0 victory at Cardiff was followed up by a 3-1 home win over QPR yesterday.

Garner found the back of the net in both games and was WhoScored’s man of the match in the game at Cardiff.

That was enough to see him named in their Championship Team of the Week.

Yesterday, he had three shots on goal, two of which were on target and of course found the back of the net in a straightforward win.

He was also fouled more than any other player, suggesting Mark Warburton’s side had no real idea how to stop him.

Garner whipped in six crosses – twice as many as the next most in a red shirt.

Forest have been in relegation danger at times this season but Garner’s January arrival is one of the reasons they’re comfortably safe now.

Garner fell out of favour at Watford in the early part of the season, due to the arrival of Xisco Muñoz in the dugout.

But the way he’s recovered from that to shine at Forest is a testament to his quality and character.

It remains to be seen what lies ahead for him next season.

He’s shown he can make a real impact in the Championship and perhaps a loan to the lower half of the Premier League is the next step.

That said, there’s question marks over the futures of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, which may open up a spot for him in United’s squad.

In the meantime, all he can do is keep impressing like he did over the Easter weekend.
