Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho was a surprise absentee from the squad which beat Fulham on the season’s opening day.
Erik ten Hag explained Jadon Sancho’s absence from the Manchester United squad to face Fulham as due to an ‘infection’.
With rumours still swirling over Sancho’s future at Old Trafford, and his falling out with Erik ten Hag last season, it is hard to take this excuse at face value.
Manchester United won the game 1-0 with new signing Joshua Zirkzee coming off the bench to score the winner.

Sancho joins in Fernandes praise
This time Jadon Sancho did not blast back at Erik ten Hag and dispute his manager’s comments.
Instead Sancho’s only activity on social media came in response to Bruno Fernandes’ Instagram post.
Fernandes wrote: “Nothing beats the feeling of being back at Old Trafford ❤️
“Ps: fantasy league managers that trust me sorry for yesterday… I will repay you.”
Sancho joined former United man Odion Ighalo and current teammate Altay Bayindir, by responding to show his admiration for Fernandes, leaving a one-word message which simply said: “Bruno!”

One more game before deadline day
Manchester United face Brighton and Hove Albion next weekend away from home, who are now top of the Premier League table after their 3-0 win at Everton.
While Fernandes is nailed on to start, Sancho has a tough task to force his way into the squad, let alone the team.
United’s bench against Fulham consisted of Alejando Garnacho, Joshua Zirkzee, Jonny Evans, Matthijs de Ligt, Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen, Altay Bayindir, Tonby Collyer and Antony.
If Sancho is going to be included, then one of those will have to drop out.
He will have to work hard in training to get into the team. And that is if he is not sold before then.
