Garner wasn’t really a regular in the Everton setup last season, however this year he’s really established himself as a vital member of their squad.

He’s started 11 out of 12 matches in the Premier League this season, scoring one goal and obtaining one assist along the way.

James Garner’s importance given Amadou Onana absence

Onana is arguably Everton’s best player. The Belgian is an absolute powerhouse in midfield. He’s a big loss for the Merseysiders.

This means that Garner will seriously have to step up in his absence. The English midfielder will now have to be even more dominant, given the void left by the big Belgian.
