Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Omar Berrada will decide the next permanent Manchester United manager, but the Glazer family remains as the majority owners of the football club.
The ownership structure at Manchester United is unique. Sir Jim Ratcliffe was granted full sporting control at Old Trafford following his minority takeover.
But the Glazer family still retains the majority of the shares and continues to lurk in the background.
This summer, Ineos face the decision of appointing the new permanent United manager. Michael Carrick is the favourite after his remarkable interim spell, but there are still a few concerns behind the scenes.

Do the Glazers support Michael Carrick’s permanent appointment?
Despite losing just two of his 15 games in charge so far, there has still been some push-back on hiring Carrick from pundits and fans.
Speaking on talkSPORT daily, Alex Crook has given an update on the hierarchy’s stance on hiring Michael Carrick.
“I still keep hearing whispers that some on the board are not necessarily convinced. I think the Glazers are quite happy for him to continue,” Crook said.
“I think it’s more the likes of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Omar Berrada who are just keeping their powder a little bit dry and assessing what else is out there.
“But I think initial conversations now have taken place with Michael Carrick about what the future could look like under him.”
It seems the Glazers are pro-Carrick, and actually it is Ratcliffe and Berrada who are keen to assess all options before jumping into a decision.

Ineos are right to assess, but Michael Carrick deserves it
