Manchester United star Harry Maguire shared an emotionally charged message after the Red Devils completed their FA Cup comeback win against Leicester City.
The Red Devils kicked off their FA Cup title defence last month and Ruben Amorim’s men dumped Arsenal out of the competition on penalties at the Emirates.
Manchester United welcomed Leicester City to Old Trafford on Friday for their fourth-round FA Cup tie and avoided an embarrassing exit from the competition.
Bobby De Cordova-Reid stunned Ruben Amorim’s side late in the first half and put Leicester 1-0 up at Old Trafford going into half-time.
However, United fought back in the second half and managed to pull back an equaliser in the 68th minute after Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench and scored.
The Red Devils avoided both extra time and penalties on Friday evening after Harry Maguire came to United’s rescue and scored the winner.
Bruno Fernandes superbly picked out Maguire from a United free-kick and the England defender fired a close-range header past Mads Hermansen.

Maguire’s message after Man Utd win
Manchester United have now punched their ticket to the fifth round of the FA Cup after their victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
The fourth-round FA Cup tie also marked the return of Ruud van Nistelrooy to Old Trafford for the first time since his interim managerial spell ended.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is currently the manager of Leicester City, had served as part of Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff for the 2024-25 campaign as assistant manager.
The 48-year-old former United assistant manager oversaw a four-match interim spell in 2024 after Erik ten Hag was sacked as United manager last October.
Harry Maguire was lucky to see his winning header count in the FA Cup after replays suggested that he was in an offside position before scoring.
However, VAR was not in operation for the FA Cup match and Maguire’s winner could not be overturned.
Despite the controversy surrounding his winner against former club Leicester, Maguire took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt message with United fans.
“Last minute winner at the Stretford end [sic],” he wrote, adding two emojis alongside his post.
Maguire speaks out on FA Cup victory
Maguire was thrilled to finally score at the Stretford End for the first time in his career and the 31-year-old United defender called it a “proud” moment.
“It’s an amazing feeling to score in the last minute at the Stretford End,” he said in his post-match interview, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“It’s something I’ve never done in my Manchester United career, so it’s something that I’m proud of, I’m sure my family and friends were jumping up cheering.
“It’s one I’ll never forget really, to score that winner in front of the Stretford End.”
