Gary Neville has praised Bruno Fernandes for his performance as Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest.

It was Antony who scored one goal and registered an assist to help Manchester United secure a 2-0 victory.

Diogo Dalot netted the strike in the second half, helping an injury hit United pick up an important three points.

It was a win which moved Manchester United up into third place in the Premier League table, three points clear of Newcastle.

Neville picks Fernandes as MOTM

Despite Antony’s heroics, former star Gary Neville selected Bruno Fernandes as his man of the match.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: “Bruno Fernandes has dominated this game with his passing in the final third.

“He’s been outstanding from minute one.”

Fernandes’ pass set up Anthony Martial’s shot for United’s first goal, which Antony scored on the rebound.

The Portuguese star created six goalscoring chances in total, from 96 total touches.

While he did not add a goal or assist with this game, Fernandes pulled the strings for United, and he deserves real credit for the way he played, and stood out in our player ratings.

Fernandes’ shift in midfield was even more impressive considering the pre-game disruption of Marcel Sabitzer pulling out of the warm up injured.
