Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville was critical of what he saw from both Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo during Manchester United’s encounter against Brentford.
Both Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo made the starting XI for Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Brentford on Monday evening amid Matheus Cunha’s absence.
Amad only played the first half of the Premier League match before Michael Carrick made a key change at the break after he brought defender Noussair Mazraoui on.
Mbeumo, on the other hand, managed to play 75 minutes of Man Utd’s clash with Brentford before the Cameroon winger made way at Old Trafford for Mason Mount.

Gary Neville says Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo were impacting both Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo
Gary Neville praised both Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo for their respective performances in Manchester United’s win at Old Trafford earlier this week.
Casemiro netted the opener for the Red Devils inside the first 15 minutes, while Kobbie Mainoo’s superb midfield display impressed United fans on the night.
Speaking on The Overlap’s ‘Fan Debate’ show alongside Paul Scholes, Neville defended his initial verdict around Mainoo and Casemiro during the Brentford match.
The 51-year-old United legend felt that both Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo were letting Casemiro and Mainoo down by not helping out in the midfield area.
“And look, forget Brentford’s wide players were doing exactly the same, but let’s forget about them,” Neville said.
“And Mbeumo and Amad last night in the wide areas, they were really poor at getting back in alongside.
“They were almost half cheating, almost like to go on the counterattack rather than getting back in tight alongside Kobbie and Casemiro.
“I don’t know why they were doing that.”

Gary Neville singles out Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko alongside Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo from Man Utd’s win
Benjamin Sesko put Man Utd 2-0 up before half-time after the Red Devils capitalised on the counterattack, with Bruno Fernandes chalking up an assist for the striker as well.
Despite the impact that Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko had together, Neville admitted that the Man Utd duo both started ‘slowly’ in the Premier League match.
“And even Bruno and Sesko were sort of slow getting back towards and just, they weren’t compact at all,” he added.
Man Utd will now return to Premier League action under Michael Carrick on Sunday afternoon, with the Red Devils hosting Liverpool at Old Trafford.
