Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Casemiro have faced criticism for their decision to travel to the United States over the international break.
There were 14 Manchester United players called up for international duty in November, but Marcus Rashford and Casemiro were left out of the England and Brazil squads respectively.
During the first half of the break, Rashford and Casemiro both travelled to attend a basketball game in Portland with the United duo pictured leaving the venue.
They were back in time for Ruben Amorim’s first training session at Carrington on Monday afternoon, and both senior players seemed impressed by United’s new head coach.
Rashford and Casemiro praised Amorim’s training through social media messages.

United will always be under the media spotlight, even more so following a poor start that has left them 13th in the Premier League table.

So perhaps it was no surprise that Rashford and Casemiro have made headlines for their US trip, with United legends Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes sharing their thoughts.
Via The Overlap, Neville made it clear that he wasn’t impressed by the duo’s trip, while Keane had a more sympathetic view.
Neville said: “I just think from a professionalism point of view, looking at the details, I just think – I would ask the question, would my new manager want to see me there? Would the fans?
Keane replied: “But they would have had that booked and sorted a few weeks ago.
“I wouldn’t be a big fan of it but I wouldn’t have been annoyed. [If I was the manager] I would have thought there is bigger stuff to worry about than what they’ve been doing.
“But we’ve seen pictures and everyone’s happy, great PR.”
The two United legends then agreed on one point after Neville said: “Honestly for me, not being seen and going under the radar [is important]. If he doesn’t play well on Sunday, he knows what’s coming. So make life easier for yourself.
Keane agreed with that point, saying: “Of course, of course”.

Ultimately, Rashford and Casemiro can do as they please over the international break – they clearly had permission from the club to travel and were back in time ready for Amorim’s session.
Everything off the pitch will be forgotten if they step up and impress under Amorim on Sunday afternoon.

They are two of the more senior players in the squad and have had extra time to work with the Portuguese coach ahead of the trip to Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.
It has been suggested that Amorim could play Rashford as a striker in his 3-4-3 system, a role that could suit him and help him rediscover the form that saw him score 30 goals in 2022/23.
