Gary Lineker has now highlighted the key difference between two key first-team Manchester United players under manager Ruben Amorim in the 2025-26 campaign.
Ruben Amorim was able to play down the pressure over his Manchester United future after his side secured their first Premier League win of the new season.
United hosted Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon and the Red Devils sealed a dramatic late 3-2 win, with Bruno Fernandes scoring an injury-time penalty.
The Red Devils climbed to ninth place in the Premier League table after United’s result over Burnley, which provided a major boost for the under-pressure Amorim.
Different United first-team players are away from Old Trafford after the start of the September international break, with the Red Devils returning to action next week.

Gary Lineker drops his verdict on Man Utd summer signing Matheus Cunha amid his discussion with Alan Shearer
Matheus Cunha has impressed in the early stages of the 2025-26 campaign and the ex-Wolves ace has been a lively presence in the final third for Ruben Amorim’s men.
However, United manager Amorim was dealt a blow on the weekend after Matheus Cunha was forced off the pitch in the Burnley match due to a muscular injury.
Gary Lineker compared the “really talented” Cunha with United summer signing Bryan Mbeumo and suggested that there was one key difference between the pair.
“Cunha is really talented as well,” he told Alan Shearer on The Rest Is Football podcast.
“I think they’re two [Cunha and Mbeumo] good signings.
“Cunha’s slightly different [to Mbeumo] and he can be a little bit flaky, but he looks like he’s done his hamstring as well, which is gonna be a blow.”
Ruben Amorim’s immediate reaction to Matheus Cunha’s injury in the Man Utd win over Burnley in the Premier League
Matheus Cunha went down against Burnley after pulling up with his injury and the 26-year-old Brazilian attacker was hooked off for Joshua Zirkzee in the first half.
Speaking after Saturday’s 3-2 Premier League win at Old Trafford, Amorim admitted that he was “concerned” about the injuries to United duo Cunha and Mason Mount.
“It was hard to lose Cunha and Mason Mount, because Mason Mount played 30 minutes with an injury,” he told Sky Sports, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“I’m concerned about that, because they are so important for us. We will see.”
Cunha has withdrawn from Brazil’s forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia during the September international break after suffering his leg injury.
