Furious Man Utd fans all make same point after major Amad Diallo injury setback, baffled by ‘decision’ that ‘backfired’

Furious Manchester United fans did not hold back after it emerged that Amad Diallo could potentially miss the rest of the 2024-25 campaign due to injury.

Amad Diallo has arguably been Manchester United’s standout performer this season amid the Red Devils’ lacklustre Premier League campaign.

The 22-year-old Ivorian attacker has netted nine times and registered seven assists in 36 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 season.

Amad has enjoyed a superb breakout season at Old Trafford and established himself as a key first-team player under United manager Ruben Amorim.

The United winger, who has been praised for his consistency this season, inked his long-term future at the Premier League club with a new contract last month.

Amad suffers major injury setback

The Daily Mail reports that Amad Diallo could miss out on Sunday’s Premier League match away from home against Tottenham due to injury.

It is claimed that the Ivory Coast international was ‘hurt in training’ and ‘faces a lengthy lay-off,’ which could leave Amad on the sideline for the ‘foreseeable future.’

Ruben Amorim is already set to be without midfield trio Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer for the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Manchester United fans took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and slammed Ineos for not replacing Marcus Rashford and Antony.

“They offloaded Rashford and Antony without finding replacements,” one Red Devils supporter said.

Another X user wrote: “Without Amad, we are out of options for attacking players. Rashford, Antony [both] out [on] loan, Amad injury [sic]. What have Ineos done???”

A third tweeted: “Ineos are the reason the season is done in February. How the hell do you send Antony and Rashford on loan without any replacement??? I hate this club.”

Someone else commented: “Hope Amad recovers well, but this makes getting rid of Rashford and Antony without replacements look even dumber.”

“Moving Rashford [and] Antony on with no replacements looking even more stupid now,” a fifth suggested.

While a sixth added: “Said when they loaned Rashford and Antony out that we were an Amad injury away from disaster and here it is.”

“Genius decision by [the] board to let go Rashford and Antony on loan without even a single replacement,” another posted.

An eighth fan simply tweeted: “Who’d have thought getting rid of Antony and Rashford without replacements could have backfired?”

Rashford and Antony both out on loan

Ruben Amorim was already left short of attacking options after Marcus Rashford was shipped out on loan to Aston Villa before the winter transfer window shut.

Antony, much like United teammate Rashford, left Old Trafford during the January transfer window and completed a loan move to La Liga club Real Betis.

Jadon Sancho, on the other hand, moved to Chelsea last summer and the Blues will have to sign the United loanee on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Amorim has seen United struggle in the final third and both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to regularly score for the Red Devils this season.
