Manchester United have completed an impressive double deal for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, but Bayern Munich fans are livid.
The transfer window is taking real shape for Manchester United after a double swoop was completed to sign Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
The pair join the exclusive list of players to have represented both United and Bayern and also join the ever-increasing list of players that Erik ten Hag has worked with at Ajax before signing at United.
United have brought the pair to Old Trafford for fees of £38m and £12m respectively, and these deals could end up being the bargains of the summer.
Now, the reaction from Bayern fans backs up that theory. Here is how fans of the German giants have reacted to the double deal.

How have Bayern fans reacted to selling Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui’s sales
Plenty can be learned about how good of a deal United managed to do by how Bayern fans are reacting.
One Bayern fan account with over 50k followers on X – Bayern & Football – commented that they could not believe Bayern would ‘downgrade’ for such a lowly figure.
The same fan page then added a post on De Ligt specifically, blasting the decision to sell: “De Ligt clearly didn’t want to leave, but we forced him out. This is unforgivable from the board. We sold our best CB and downgraded the defence.”
Under Bayern’s announcement of the deal, one fan simply commented: “Hurts bad”.
Another added a comment demanding answers from the club for the decision: “When’s the press conference to explain why?”
“One of the biggest mistakes in the club’s history. You should strengthen yourself during a transfer window, not weaken yourself”, wrote one fan under the announcement.
Finally, another added: “I hate, hate, hate you for letting De Ligt go, he was the most consistent defender.”
Will both De Ligt and Mazraoui start vs Fulham
Getting both of these deals across the line prior to the start of the Premier League season is huge for United amid a real lack of options defensively through injuries and the £15m sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Due to this, both will likely be in the starting line-up to face Fulham on Friday night, and it could make all the difference.
Mazraoui will likely play at either of the full-back positions with Diogo Dalot in the other – both are versatile and can play on either side which is a real benefit for United.
De Ligt will also likely start, with Leny Yoro and Victor Lindelof out, and Harry Maguire not fully fit. This could see Ten Hag start what is likely his dream backline with Lisandro Martinez partnering with the new No.4 at Old Trafford.
