Former Manchester United talent Noam Emeran has pledged his international allegiance to Rwanda.
While the World Cup is just kicking off, one player has his sights set on a different tournament.
Former Manchester United prospect Noam Emeran is busy targeting the 2027 AFCON, after agreeing to represent Rwanda at international level.
Emeran was a France under-16s international when he joined United, playing in the same French youth team as Brighton’s Georginio Rutter.
Now after changes at club level, Emeran has made an international switch.

Noam Emeran represents Rwanda
Noam Emeran has decided to represent the Rwanda international team.
He qualifies for Rwanda through his father, who was a Rwanda international himself. Fritz Emeran played for his country six times, and had a club career in Europe, playing in France, Belgium, and Greece.
Emeran told the New Times: “It is with immense pride and great emotion that I join the Rwandan national team.
“Representing my country is a true honour and the beginning of a new chapter that we will write together with passion, hard work and unity.”
Posting on Instagram after the completion of a two-week training camp this June, he wrote: “Good camp has been done over there to prepare what’s coming next, thanks again to the staff and teammates for the warm welcome.🙏🏾 AFCON qualifiers in sight can’t wait for it !!”
The qualifiers begin in September. Rwanda are drawn in Group K alongside Mali, Cape Verde and Liberia.

Noam Emeran’s club
Noam Emeran was born in France and began at the Amiens academy before signing with Manchester United in 2019.
Emeran’s progress at Manchester United was stunted by injuries, although he did manage to score for the first team in pre-season in a friendly match against Leeds in 2023.
This helped him secure a move to Dutch club Groningen in 2023, where he has played 22 times, scoring once.
Over the past season he has been on loan at FC Emmen, where he played 11 times, providing two assists.
Now 23, the winger is under contract at Groningen until 2027. His international challenge with Rwanda could give him new inspiration.
