Antonio Conte is one of the lead contenders for the Manchester United job if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is fired.
Solskjaer is on the brink after a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool at the weekend.
Conte is under consideration from United, Sky Sport Italia report.
The manager’s most recent achievement was to win the Serie A title, which he did using four former Manchester United players, Romelu Lukaku, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young, and Alexis Sanchez.
Having looked towards United in the transfer market in the past, it’s clear Conte admires the quality of player at the club.
And there are players currently at Old Trafford who Conte has reportedly tried to sign, or been interested in signing.

Jesse Lingard
Jesse Lingard could benefit from Antonio Conte’s possible arrival at Old Trafford.
The Mirror reported in January that Conte was targeting him to join his fellow Old Trafford ex-teammates at the San Siro.
Lingard ended up signing for West Ham on loan instead and remains a United player.
Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial’s improved form in the 2019/20 season put him on Inter’s radar.
The Star reported Conte had doubts over Lautaro Martinez’s future at Inter and wanted an alternative forward he knew from the Premier League.
Martial’s form has dipped since and he has had issues with injuries. Conte may fancy himself to still get the best out of him.
Eric Bailly
With Conte’s track record of targeting out of favour Manchester United players, it made sense he kept an eye on Eric Bailly.
Eurosport reported Conte was keen on a move for Bailly earlier this year.
Conte did not get a chance to further explore this, as Bailly signed a new contract in April, a decision he might regret due to his lack of playing time.

Paul Pogba
Conte managed Paul Pogba and Juventus and knows how to get the best out of the Frenchman.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported in 2020 that Conte dreamed of signing Conte for Inter Milan and was keeping an eye on his contract situation.
Pogba’s future still remains very unclear. Conte may fancy his chances of persuading the Frenchman to re-sign.

Edinson Cavani
Strike ace Edinson Cavani has been on Conte’s radar for a long time. Now he could get his chance to work with him.
Le10Sport reported in 2016 that Cavani was Conte’s top choice when he was looking to add a striker for Chelsea.
Conte was reportedly ready to spend more than £40 million on Cavani, but PSG did not wish to sell.
