Manchester United have had a busy transfer window when it comes to outgoing players.

Along with Alvaro Fernandez switching loan clubs, Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, Joe Hugill, Hannibal Mejbri, Maxi Oyedele and Rhys Bennett have gone out on loan this month, adding to the cast of players Manchester United already had out on loan.

More could join them before the transfer window closes, and one of them is imminent.

Dan Gore is set to head out on the first loan spell of his career, after making his first team debut earlier this season.

Dan Gore set for medical

According to Fabrizio Romano, Dan Gore’s loan move to Port Vale is now all agreed.

He writes on X: “Dan Gore, completing his loan move from Manchester United to Port Vale. Understand final part of medical tests will take place on Tuesday, tomorrow — first part already done. Done deal, as revealed last week.”

Port Vale are currently placed 18th out of 24 teams in League One, and he will have half a season to help his side try to stay in England’s third tier.

It is a good opportunity for Gore to get used to first team football. He impressed in pre-season in 2023 and will look to make an even bigger impression this summer.

Gore should succeed

Gore’s game should be made for the battle ground of the Football League. In addition to his technical quality, the young midfielder excels in the more industrious side of the game, applying pressure, making tackles, and winning the ball back.

The England youth international was part of Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup winning side in 2022 and has a real chance to follow Kobbie Mainoo into the first team on a regular basis.

While United could have kept him for the FA Cup fourth round clash against Newport County, there were unlikely to be many opportunities beyond that this season, and it is more valuable for him to gain experience playing on a regular basis.
