Manchester United duo Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro are likely to miss several matches in the forthcoming campaign after picking up injuries during pre-season.

Leny Yoro arrived at Old Trafford this summer after Manchester United beat Real Madrid in the race to sign the highly rated 18-year-old centre-back.

United agreed an initial fee of £52.18m, including a further £6.73m in add-ons, to complete their acquisition of Yoro from Ligue 1 side Lille.

Rasmus Hojlund has been at Old Trafford since 2023 after his £72m move from Atalanta, with the United striker experiencing a mixed debut season at the club.

He scored only 16 times in 43 appearances last season, with Hojlund finding the back of the net five times in six Champions League matches.

Hojlund signed off the Premier League campaign by scoring 10 times in 30 matches, but he went his first 14 league matches without scoring once.

Man Utd matches that Hojlund and Yoro could miss

Erik ten Hag was dealt a major blow after Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro came off with injuries in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in California.

Hojlund fired United into the lead in the 10th minute of last month’s clash before he limped off in the 16th minute and was replaced by Hannibal Mejbri.

Ten Hag was then forced to make another switch before half-time after Yoro suffered a knock and he replaced the Frenchman with Rhys Bennett.

According to BBC Sport, Yoro is expected to be out of action for three months and Hojlund is likely to be sidelined for the next six weeks.

Yoro was spotted wearing a protective boot and using crutches while he was at United’s training base at UCLA in Los Angeles.

BBC Sport reports that the former Lille star will have ‘further tests when he returns to the UK,’ but Yoro will remain with United for the rest of the United States tour.

Posted below are the matches that Hojlund and Yoro are likely to miss due to their respective injuries.

Ten Hag needs to fix Hojlund and Yoro issue

Ten Hag will be forced to turn to Netherlands striker Joshua Zirkzee, who was signed from Bologna this summer, or Marcus Rashford in the absence of Hojlund.

Joshua Zirkzee was snapped up in a deal worth £36.54m and the 23-year-old Dutchman was set to battle with Hojlund for a place in the starting XI.

While Hojlund’s injury is expected to last around six weeks, Yoro’s three-month absence will be a major blow for Ten Hag ahead of the 2024/25 season.

However, United have been heavily linked with Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt in recent weeks.

The Red Devils could still make a move for one of the two aforementioned players before the transfer window shuts.
