Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has conducted his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils welcome Antonio Conte’s Spurs to Old Trafford, in what will be the first meeting between the Dutchman and Italian.

With a game in hand, the twenty-time league champions are seven points behind third-placed Spurs after Sunday’s goalless draw against Newcastle United at the Theatre of Dreams.

Ten Hag was asked for an injury update ahead of the match against the north Londoners and was specifically asked about Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial‘s availability.

“Anthony Martial is not available,” confirmed the Dutchman.

“[With Christian] Eriksen, we have to wait. He was just on the pitch [training]. We have to see how he recovers from that and then we will make a decision tomorrow.”

The Danish playmaker missed the stalemate against Newcastle through illness having started United’s previous eight Premier League games.

Martial has missed the last two games having come off against Everton with a back problem.

Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek all remain unavailable, but United’s captain is close to a return to training.

Manchester United won both of the league games against Tottenham last season. The Reds won 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford.

United’s win in the capital resulted in Nuno Espirito Santo losing his job.

The two sides played out a five-goal thriller seven months ago, but five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo proved to be the difference after netting a hat-trick.

Conte was full of praise for United’s number seven in his press conference.

United face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening and Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes are both one booking away from missing the clash against Graham Potter’s Blues through a one-match suspension.

Scott McTominay is back available for the Reds after serving a one-game ban after picking up his fifth Premier League yellow card of the campaign at Goodison Park.
