Erik ten Hag has heaped praise on one unsung hero following Manchester United’s win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The pressure was seemingly beginning to mount on Erik ten Hag with reports this week stating that he was on ‘thin ice’ according to The Times.
Well, the late winner from Bruno Fernandes has kept the pressure off the Dutchman and has kept Manchester United within touching distance of the top five, just.
One man, in particular, has drawn ample praise from Ten Hag following the win in West London and it’s hard to disagree with the 53-year-old’s assessment of his performances.

After the win at Craven Cottage, the former Ajax boss was full of praise for Harry Maguire who put in a colossal performance at the heart of the defence.
“He was playing a massive, massive game. A very good performance,” Ten Hag told reporters in his press conference at Craven Cottage.
“He showed leadership and in and out of possession he was very good, so I’m very pleased with that performance from Harry.”
The Englishman was stripped of the captaincy last summer but despite this, the defender was crucial for the Red Devils as they ran out 1-0 winners.
Maguire’s impact
If someone had said a few months ago that Maguire would be Ten Hag’s first-choice defender, then they would have been laughed at but this is the reality.
The Englishman has done superbly well and has been man of the match in multiple games this season and he, alongside Jonny Evans, have formed a solid partnership in the absence of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
Maguire looked set to leave the club this summer but the defender has shown that hard work and perseverance are enough to win your place back at Old Trafford and he deserves all the praise he’s getting at the moment.
