- Manchester United transfer latest.
Elliot Anderson stands out as the top midfielder on the market in 2026, however, it has been unclear whether Manchester United have the appetite to fight for a move.
Manchester City have seen a bid of £80 million turned down by Nottingham Forest.
The Guardian reports that Manchester United still believe that Elliot Anderson can be persuaded to join the Red Devils instead.
The report states, “the club’s executives [are] optimistic they can beat Manchester City in the race to acquire the 23-year-old midfielder.”
Anderson would command wages of around £200,000 per-week, and Nottingham Forest want £100 million.
Manchester United’s interest in advancing on a deal depends on indications from the player that he would be open to a move, and they are not giving up yet.
United are also pursuing West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, with Carlos Baleba a possibility too.
