Manchester United are pushing to close a deal for Atalanta star Ederson.

Ineos are pushing to conclude Manchester United’s first signing of the summer, with Ederson set to join from Atalanta.

Talks between the two clubs have recently been delayed by Atalanta changing managers, they are expected to replace Raffaele Palladino with Maurizio Sarri.

But this won’t impact the outcome of Ederson’s move to Manchester United.

Speaking to United We Stand, Andy Mitten says that a move could be concluded by the end of the week.

He said: “An agreement is very, very close. I fully expect that to be done within the next 24 to 48 hours.”

United beat competition to sign Ederson

Mitten adds that Manchester United have beaten competition to land Ederson, and that he has heard rave reviews about the Brazilian.

He said: “He had other suitors, most of them are in Italy, one of them was in Spain, because he’s really good.

“It was put to me about Ederson that there’s no one in Serie A that comes close to him at the moment.”

Atletico Madrid and Juventus speculated to have been among the clubs interested in Ederson – who has chosen to sign with United.

United are looking to do a deal for the midfielder for around £40 million. No fee has been agreed yet, but the framework of personal terms are agreed.
