Donny van de Beek looks set to suffer the same cruel fate he’s had for years at Old Trafford

Donny van de Beek linked up with Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window on loan from Manchester United.

The Dutchman has suffered a harsh career at Old Trafford so far. Since his £35m transfer, in just four years, he’s played just 62 times for the Red Devils.

Van de Beek obtaining a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt was supposed to be a turning point in his career again. After a failed loan spell at Everton in the Premier League and little to no game time under Erik ten Hag – Donny was crying out for some minutes in the Bundesliga.

This is now looking like it will not be the case, with the same old story happening for the Dutchman.

Donny van de Beek’s start to Bundesliga life gets worse

After a positive debut, Donny was brought right back down to earth last week, being taken off after just 45 minutes in what was a shocker of a performance. He managed just five passes all game.

It can only be uphill from there – right? Well, sadly in the case of the Manchester United loanee, no.

Frankfurt suffered a 2-0 loss to FC Koln yesterday in the league, in what was a horror show for the away side, receiving two red cards.

Van de Beek was on the bench for this game and did not feature a single minute for his new club, despite seemingly not being injured.

A cruel fate for De Beek, which now looks set to be recurring once again in Germany.

Van de Beek may be getting no minutes… again

Van de Beek has ultimately gone to Frankfurt to gain minutes, and it looks like, once again, he won’t be getting them.

To further cement this, Van de Beek has not made the cut for the Europa Conference League squad for Eintracht Frankfurt. That’s a seriously worrying sign for him moving forward.

That second game really must have changed Dino Toppmöller’s mind on the Dutchman. He was expected, much like Jadon Sancho, to head out and make a name for himself again.

Instead, just three games in, he wasn’t even preferred as one of five substitutes. This could be a one-off, but so far once again he’s out of favour in a side. It’s not looking good for Donny in the Bundesliga.
