Manchester United’s first outgoing deal of the January 2024 transfer window was concluded early on New Year’s Day.
Donny van de Beek has been sent on loan to German side Eintracht Frankfurt for the rest of the season, the club confirmed.
Van de Beek had been expected to leave in the summer, and played only 21 minutes of action this season, the last of which was in September.
He had been on the bench for United over the festive period to make up the numbers, even though his loan deal was provisionally agreed beforehand.

Van de Beek signs with Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt are having a good season in Germany, currently in sixth place in the Bundesliga as they push to try and secure a European place for 2024/25.
They are pleased with the deal to sign Van de Beek, was was unveiled looking very happy to be representing his new loan club.
Eintracht Frankfurt are pleased with the deal, with sporting director Markus Krösche telling their website that the former Ajax midfielder can contribute importantly to the team.
Krösche said: “Donny van de Beek fits our playing philosophy perfectly and is an important piece of the puzzle for our squad.
“He brings plenty of international experience, which our young players will profit from.
“Donny also carries a goal threat and should be particularly useful when it comes to getting our forwards into promising positions.”
Van de Beek did score for Manchester United in pre-season, but has only scored two competitive goals for the Red Devils since his move in 2020.
This is his second loan move away from Old Trafford, following his January 2022 loan to Everton.

Donny van de Beek needed this fresh start and everybody associated with Manchester United hope he will be able to seize the opportunity.
The Dutchman wrote a message on Instagram: “New year, new chapter! Really happy to be part of this great club.”
He received responses from Manchester United teammates past and present, with Bruno Fernandes, Sofyan Amrabat, Fred and Odion Ighalo all reaching out to wish him well.
