Ruben Amorim is the new Manchester United head coach and will take charge from the 11th of November onwards.

Erik ten Hag only left on Monday and yet already Manchester United have swooped to snap up the most exciting coach in Europe.

Ruben Amorim has been officially announced as the next manager of United, however, it will not be until a week on Monday that he takes over from current interim Ruud van Nistelrooy.

This will see Amorim take charge prior to the international break and then will have two whole weeks to whip his squad into shape before facing off against Kieran McKenna and Ipswich.

Amorim has fans excited, as the 39-year-old can be considered to be a generational coach with Jose Mourinho a registered fan of his.

Diogo Dalot shares verdict on Ruben Amorim

After United announced Amorim’s arrival at lunchtime on Friday, it did not take long for Sky Sports to ask Diogo Dalot for his verdict on the appointment.

“He’s obviously a fantastic coach, a young mentality but at the same time he knows what he wants”, Dalot explained.

“Very demanding, that’s what I can expect and I think that’s a perfect match for a club like this.

“The standards are really high, I hope that it can be a really good match and win together.”

This will be music to United fans’ ears as ambition and standards were seen to have slipped under Ten Hag’s rule.

Diogo Dalot can be key for Amorim’s Manchester United

For Dalot, the arrival of a Portuguese head coach will present him with an advantage in terms of instantly securing his spot in the team.

Dalot has been ever-present for United in the last year, even being named the players player of the year for his contributions through 2023/24.

This season he has been deployed as a left-back – however we imagine that Amorim will have him back in his natural role quite quickly.

Given the pair have an obvious relationship, given what Dalot knows about him, it could even be that Dalot becomes a real team leader under Amorim in the next few years.
