Manchester United’s injury list is gradually clearing up, after fears the club was in for a repeat of 2023/24.

When Manchester United lost 4-0 against Crystal Palace, the centre-backs were Casemiro, and Jonny Evans, who had been rushed back from injury. They were the only two options.

This time around United have Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and a fully fit Jonny Evans to choose from, illustrating the improved state of play heading into this week’s game.

United also have Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount back in training and available for selection.

Crystal Palace trio out

Manchester United opponents Crystal Palace have a few injury issues to deal with themselves, wit three players ruled out.

Manager Oliver Glasner spoke at his press conference to rule out midfielder Cheick Doucoure, explaining that he will miss several weeks.

Attacking midfielder Matheus Franca and on-loan defender Trevor Chalobah have also been ruled out, with Glasner confirming they will not be fit for the weekend’s game.

Palace’s main dangermen

Crystal Palace no longer have Michael Olise, who was sold to Bayern Munich in the summer. But the core of their team which beat United remain available.

Eberechi Eze and Jean-Phillipe Mateta will feature against United, along with highly rated midfielder Adam Wharton.

There will be a familiar face in goal with former United academy graduate Dean Henderson looking to come out on top against the Red Devils again.

United beat Palace in the Carabao Cup last season, but lost home and away in the Premier League.
