Cristian Orozco had an unforgettable trip to Manchester United earlier this month ahead of his eagerly awaited summer transfer.
Manchester United are busy heading into 2026, as its scouting staff will be in overdrive to identify the right targets ahead of the World Cup.
The strategy has changed at United from the previous regime, as Ineos are prioritising young players. That has been evident with signings such as Leny Yoro, Patrick Dorgu, Sekou Kone, and Chido Obi.
WHAT are your BOLD predictions for 2026?🔮
Silverware? Big signings? Ruben Amorim's future?
The drive to bring the best young players to Old Trafford will continue in 2026 because United already have a deal lined up, with Colombian wonderkid Cristian Orozco set to sign for the club.
Orozco will sign for United in July after turning 18, which is similar to the deal that saw Diego Leon move from Cerro Porteno last summer.

Cristian Orozco reflects on trip to Man Utd
Orozco visited Manchester and attended a match as a special guest at the beginning of December.
The Colombia U17s captain was in attendance for United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham at Old Trafford, but he has now revealed that he also got to train at Carrington with the youth teams.
It remains to be seen if Orozco will be brought on the pre-season tour next summer or if he will be sent out on loan to gain more experience at the senior level.
“It was amazing and I am really happy,” Orozco told FullDeportes Caribe ahead of his move from Bogota-based side Fortaleza.
“I got to train with the Under 18s and Under 21s for a few days and I was really happy because they treated me really well. Hopefully when I arrive it will be easier because I will know them.”
Who should now be Man Utd’s top transfer target in January 2026?
After missing out on Antoine Semenyo, who should Manchester United be targeting?
First impressions are important and it sounds like Orozco is excited to move to United and take his professional career to Europe like other great Colombian players have done in the past.
Cristian Orozco is joining Man Utd at the perfect time
As a young central midfielder, Orozco will be looking at United’s current list of midfielders with the belief that he stands a chance of competing for a place in the team.
Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are ageing players with uncertain futures, but United will be in the market for more midfield additions, which means the competition for places will get better.
United fans will be hoping that the club has found a gem in Orozco. We are all eager to see him in action.
