Christian Eriksen has now dropped his telling verdict on Manchester United and Napoli striker Rasmus Hojlund after Denmark’s thumping 6-0 victory against Belarus.

The 33-year-old Danish midfielder was reunited with former Manchester United teammates Rasmus Hojlund and Patrick Dorgu for the October international break.

Christian Eriksen, who left Old Trafford at the end of the 2024-25 season, was named on the bench for Denmark’s World Cup qualifier on Thursday evening.

The former United star was brought on in the second half against Belarus after manager Brian Riemer hooked off Porto midfielder Victor Froholdt at half-time.

Hojlund and Patrick Dorgu both started for Denmark and the United duo both impressed in Denmark’s steamrolling performance at the ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg.

Christian Eriksen breaks down the performance of Man Utd and Napoli striker Rasmus Hojlund for Denmark against Belarus

Rasmus Hojlund signed for Napoli in the summer and the on-loan Manchester United striker has found a rich vein of form under manager Antonio Conte this season.

The 22-year-old Danish forward has netted four times in six appearances across all competitions for Napoli since his return to Italy on deadline day in September.

Hojlund’s goalscoring exploits with Napoli have now carried over to the international stage with Denmark, with the United star scoring a stunning brace against Belarus.

The Denmark striker netted inside the opening 20 minutes on Thursday evening before Hojlund scored his second in the World Cup qualifying tie ahead of half-time.

Speaking after Denmark’s 6-0 drubbing of Belarus, Christian Eriksen waxed lyrical about the stunning impact that the in-form Hojlund had for his country on the night.

“He is a man with self-confidence, and he stood in the right places, where he was ready to take the easy goals,” he said, as per Bold.

“It was great to see. Not only for him, but also for us. It is definitely something we can use. I know there is a lot of focus on ‘Ralle,’ so I am happy for him.”

Hojlund’s influence also extended to the United forward setting up defender Patrick Dorgu with an assist in first-half injury-time at the ZTE Arena in Hungary.

Denmark manager Brian Riemer made the decision to take off the Napoli summer signing in the second half and Wolfsburg forward Jonas Wind replaced him.

Eriksen, who signed for Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg as a free agent in September, admitted that Hojlund showed where his mindset is right now with his display.

“As [a] player, you can tell when you’re in a good period,” he added.

“You can see it in him. He looks happy and the ball is falling in the right places.”

Eriksen had praised former United teammate Hojlund for his revival in form ahead of Denmark’s Group C World Cup qualifying clash against Belarus on Thursday.
