Opta has now revealed how Manchester United should be performing under Ruben Amorim compared with the Red Devils’ current Premier League position in the table.
Manchester United managed to climb to 10th place in the Premier League table ahead of the October break, with the Red Devils picking up their third league win.
The Red Devils were in action at Old Trafford last Saturday and Ruben Amorim watched United comfortably beat Sunderland 2-0 in the Premier League.
United have lost twice in their opening seven Premier League matches in the 2025-26 season and the Red Devils’ form under manager Amorim has been erratic.
The Red Devils are six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and the Red Devils are four points adrift from the top four after United’s win over Sunderland.

Opta’s supercomputer projects where Man Utd should be in the 2025-26 Premier League table under Ruben Amorim
TNT Sports referred back to Opta after the opening weeks of the Premier League season and compiled data on how all 20 league teams should be performing so far.
Opta’s supercomputer measured how each team has ‘over’ or ‘underperformed’ since the start of the 2025-26 Premier League season and by tracking the data it used.
According to Opta, the simulation it ran was ‘based on individual shot xG’ from the Premier League matches that have been played ahead of the October break.
A real eye-opener for Manchester United fans is that the Red Devils should be performing a lot better under Ruben Amorim than their 10th-place standing.
Opta’s simulation has shown that United should be fourth in the Premier League table, with Crystal Palace third, Manchester City in second and Arsenal at the top.
