Manchester United loanee Tahith Chong missed Birmingham City’s 2-0 Championship win at Middlesbrough on Saturday due to a groin injury.
Following the Blues’ win at the Riverside Stadium, Birmingham boss Lee Bowyer said that the Dutchman had suffered the injury in training.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Bowyer said: “Chong made a five-yard pass in training and felt some pain in his groin. He has gone for a scan.”
After registering his first assist since August for Birmingham in the win against Ethan Laird’s Swansea last week, Chong would have been hoping to kick on.

However, in Chong’s absence, two quickfire second half goals from Marc Roberts and Scott Hogan made it back-to-back Championship wins for Birmingham for the first time this season.
Birmingham welcome Bristol City to St Andrew’s tomorrow and host Reading on Saturday.
Chong will be hoping to feature in the last two games before the November international break, but it will depend on how quickly he can recover from his groin injury.
The Blues currently sit 14th in the Championship table on 19 points, five points off the play-off spots.

The 21-year-old has started 13 games in the Championship this season and has three assists to his name.
After two frustrating loans in Germany and Belgium, Chong looks settled at Birmingham and is relishing playing regular first team football.
In fact, Chong has already amassed more minutes (1,116) during his time with the Blues then he did with Club Brugge and Werder Bremen combined (1,078), according to Transfermarkt.
Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long to see the Dutch Under-21 international back out on the pitch tormenting defences.
