One player who has seen his time come to an end at Manchester United is Charlie McNeill, and now he’s confirmed his next move.
Charlie McNeill saw his time at Old Trafford come to an end last month after his contract was allowed to expire.
This called an end to his nearly four-year stay at Manchester United, in which he failed to make an impact on the senior side and has now headed elsewhere in search of game-time.
The 20-year-old has been confirmed to have joined Sheffield Wednesday for free in a move which could drastically benefit his career.
After this, the striker took to Instagram with his own message and in the replies, there were plenty of his United teammates wishing him well.
Charlie McNeill sends message after finding new club
After the move was announced by the club, McNeill also announced it with an Instagram post of himself in the Wednesday kit and also included a message for the fans.
“Delighted to join this massive club for the next 3 years! Can’t wait to get started and see all the fans at Hillsborough.”
Under his post, countless United names were commenting with Kobbie Mainoo leading the way, commenting with a heart emoji.
Gabriele Biancheri then added to this, writing: “Good luck”, and a praise emoji.
Dan Gore was also among those who commented as he wrote: “Good luck brother”, followed by a heart.
“Good luck son”, commented Harry Amass, followed by a heart emoji. While Shea Lacey added, “All the best lad” with a heart and clapping emoji.
Tyler Fletcher added his own message, “All the best bro” and then Ethan Wheatley commented, “Good luck bro”.
In addition to these, there were countless other messages from his former United teammates along similar lines.

Charlie McNeill’s career so far
McNeill cost Manchester United £676k to sign from Manchester City back in 2020 and at the time it looked as though we’d got one over on the city rivals.
However, with loans to both Newport County and Stevenage in the past two seasons which yielded him just three goals and an assist in a combined 23 appearances, it was time for him to depart the club.
McNeill made one senior appearance for United, in the Europa League under Erik ten Hag with a six-minute cameo but ultimately he wasn’t going to cut it.
This despite bagging 34 goals in 35 U18 games for United – a figure which dropped remarkably to 12 in 47 at U21 level.
There is no denying that McNeill will go on to have a top career, but if he does, it won’t be at United. We wish him well.
