Casemiro thinks Michael Carrick could have extended his Manchester United career
United fans have been chanting for Casemiro to stay over the past few months, with the now-famous ‘one more year Casemiro’ lyrics being sung loudly at every home game.
Now, according to The Sun, that one more year is something Casemiro actually thinks he could have done.
The report explains that Casemiro thinks that if Michael Carrick had been appointed earlier, he would have been able to play another year.
This is because Carrick has taken extra measures to help Casemiro stay fully fit, which the Brazilian clearly believes would have prolonged his ability at the highest level.
Carrick has done this both on the training ground and also in-game, by altering the system to best suit Casemiro and not leave him lost, as Erik ten Hag did.

Casemiro wouldn’t have had a successful farewell tour without Carrick
Casemiro’s form from January until now has been arguably the best he’s shown at the club since his debut season.
However, it hasn’t been through the Brazilian’s brilliance, but rather his teammates and Carrick making it possible for him to bow out on a high.
Kobbie Mainoo has been doing a lot of running and defensive work to cover for Casemiro being caught out of position time and time again, due to his lack of mobility.
Carrick has also changed the team to place less need on Casemiro getting up and down the pitch.
Additionally, Casemiro can thank Bruno Fernandes for the assists, because without his five goals, this farewell tour wouldn’t have been anywhere near as positive.
