Casemiro talks up the important role that he expects Man Utd-linked Bruno Guimaraes to play for Brazil
Casemiro was called back up to the Brazil national team under Carlo Ancelotti, who had worked closely with the Man Utd midfielder during his reign at Real Madrid.
The former Los Blancos star played a role in ensuring Brazil’s World Cup qualification and he feels that Guimaraes is a core part of the team’s identity in the future.
“So, he’s someone who will take on that leadership,” Casemiro continued.
“Among the players after my generation — me, Marquinhos, Danilo, Alisson, even Neymar himself, who we still don’t know whether he’ll continue or not, Ederson too, who’s more on that side with us, as I say, sitting at the same table, right?
“Alex Sandro too, players with more experience — Bruno is one of those players. Bruno, together with Raphinha, for me are among the players who will take on the captaincy of the national team, because of everything they represent.”
Brazil will play Panama and Egypt in June friendlies ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s men kicking off their World Cup campaign against Morocco in their Group C clash.
