Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is seemingly struggling with an ankle problem and may have aggravated it in Brazil’s recent friendly.
The Manchester United midfielder has been very hit-and-miss for Erik ten Hag’s side this season, despite being the club’s top goalscorer, he has been caught out multiple times this season.
Well, it seems Casemiro is now struggling with an injury issue which would seemingly add to the long list of problems the club currently have with their first-team squad.
The midfielder, according to a report from Brazil, has suffered an ankle injury and it could be worse than first anticipated.

Casemiro’s swollen ankle
According to a report from Globo Esporte, the midfielder didn’t train with his national side and is a doubt for his team’s game against Uruguay.
During the 1-1 draw against Venezuela, the midfielder sprained his ankle and now it has seemingly swollen. Despite the injury, the former Real Madrid midfielder carried on before being substituted in the closing stages.
Casemiro stayed in the hotel as his teammates trained and reportedly saw a physiotherapist yesterday about the extent of the injury issue so an update may well be provided sooner rather than later.
If the Brazilian’s issue sidelines him for a few weeks, then United will need to turn to their bench to bring in a replacement for the £60 million man.
Amrabat’s chance
Sofyan Amrabat certainly impressed for United when he was finally played in his preferred position against Thomas Frank’s resolute Brentford side.
However, you wonder if Amrabat could be partnered by another player, one that has caused excitement this summer before his injury, Kobbie Mainoo.
The teenager hasn’t featured for the Red Devils this season and you wonder, if he is fit enough, whether the 18-year-old would be given a chance from the off at Bramall Lane next Saturday against Sheffield United.
The more likely scenario, however, is that the midfield three of Amrabat, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes will line up together in Yorkshire.
