Bryan Mbeumo is a Manchester United player, and he has now been discussing his excitement around playing for the Red Devils.

After six weeks of negotiations, Manchester United finally secured the signature of Bryan Mbeumo over the past few days.

Matheus Cunha was first through the door on June 1st, and attentions were immediately diverted to the Cameroon international after this, with a deal looking relatively easy to complete.

Mbeumo chose United as his next club around this point, with a first bid being swiftly rejected by Brentford, worth a total of £55m including add-ons.

There was then a few weeks of talks before United’s £62.5m bid was also rejected. But finally United agreed to pay £71m, including add-ons, for Mbeumo last week to push the deal over the line.

Manchester United then faced a race to complete all the paperwork in time for pre-season, and they have done just that.

Bryan Mbeumo says Ruben Amorim has key trait as head coach

United announced the signing of Mbeumo on Monday, ahead of Tuesday’s flight to the USA for the pre-season tour and Summer Series clashes.

Mbeumo has been handed the number 19 shirt at United, and after the deal was confirmed, now the 26-year-old has been interviewed by club media with MUTV broadcasting this.

Among the questions, Mbeumo was asked about playing with Matheus Cunha, while he was also quizzed over what he had heard about his new manager.

“I think they are very similar”, Mbeumo compared Amorim with his former boss at Brentford, Thomas Frank, with whom he spent six years.

“He seems very close to his players, and his mentality is winning every time. This is something I need.”

Amorim is known for having good man management, with Mbeumo confirming this.

Prior to joining, Mbeumo will have talked with Andre Onana, his international teammate, and this is likely what he heard from the goalkeeper, saying lots about who Amorim is behind the scenes.

Ruben Amorim is finally getting what he needs at Manchester United

With the signing of Mbeumo, United’s attacking options are beginning to take shape and represent a drastic improvement on the players that were on offer at Old Trafford last season.

Cunha and Mbeumo are two of the best in the league, with their quality indisputable; however, more importantly, the pair are all about playing for United and have publicly spoken highly of Amorim.

With Alejandro Garnacho last season, United always had one player not pulling in the same direction as the rest of the team, and at every opportunity, a player who would go against the rest of his teammates.

This won’t be the case with Cunha and Mbeumo, with both in their prime and able to be considered as leaders within the ranks for Amorim. The personality improvements from these two alone should be instrumental for the Red Devils.
