Manchester United’s summer transfer window has been occupied up until now by attempts to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
The Cameroon international was target number one for Ineos once Matheus Cunha was confirmed at the beginning of June.
Brentford constantly changed the goalposts for Manchester United during negotiations, which included asking for £70m plus £7m in add-ons in the late stages of negotiations.
However, United secured a deal for Mbeumo worth £71m in total, and the move was concluded.
Now, Mbeumo has been confirmed by United, with the 26-year-old improving the toothless attack.
Now, he has spoken for the first time since completing the move.

Bryan Mbeumo highlights three Manchester United players he’s excited to play with
Mbeumo was dreaming of joining United this summer, and finally, this wish has come true, with the forward pictured in his new club colours on Monday.
Now, MUTV have broadcast Mbeumo’s first interview as a United player, in which several topics were raised, including his excitement over the transfer and playing alongside new teammates.
When asked which teammates he is excited to play with, Mbeumo named three without hesitation.
“It’s always good to play against big teams in the league, and United is one of them. There are great players here, Bruno [Fernandes], now Cunha, and [Joshua] Zirkzee. Yeah, I think I realised I will be really happy to meet them.
Fernandes and Cunha are two of the Premier League’s best players, and therefore are unsurprising additions to this list. However, Zirkzee is an interesting player to name, and it shows that his talent is admired around the league.
Bryan Mbeumo says he cannot wait to play with Matheus Cunha
Continuing in the same interview, Mbeumo was specifically asked about Cunha and the prospect of playing with the Brazilian.
“Obviously, I watched him play a lot with Wolves”, Mbeumo explained. “I know he’s a very good player, and yeah, I am sure he’s going to bring something to the team.”
Mbeumo was then asked if he’s aware of how excited fans are to see the pair playing together.
“Yeah, obviously even on the socials there is a lot of excitement [on playing with Cunha], and I think I’m ready for it.”
Mbeumo is a massive upgrade for Manchester United in the attack, with his 20 goals in the Premier League last season being more than Fernandes and Amad combined. Mbeumo’s 20 plus Cunha’s 15 should revolutionise the front line for United, and we cannot wait to see the pair playing together.
